2011 - Tassie Tour
Day 5 Nubeena - Swansea 274k
Very very cold
Set off in hail, then driving rain to Sorrel
Wind was pushing the bikes around
We had lunch in Orford
Got to Swansea around 3:30 and had a chill
Helped Peter Birthisel change his front gasket and then we checked our bikes for oil etc
Bike covers are a must in Tassie
Jim & Chris hit the Jack Daniels early
Don't think they will make dinner tonight
Ciao

Had breakfast in north Hobart - quite groovy
Then hit the Salamanca markets which were great fun
It started to rain so we jumped in a car and drove down to the Huen valley
Shot some pool in an old pub in Cygnet
Stuffed my face with oysters at Muirs on the pier
Rain has stopped

Day3 Queenstown to Hobart -260k
Woke up early and decided to leave the pack
Jim & Chris hooked in with Nigel from NSW and went to Bronte Park & I headed for Hobart
We will hook up tomorrow at New Norfolk
The Diamond had been pissing oil so I filled her up
Bloody cold. I was wearing every shirt I had and a te shirt as a scarf
Roads were great out of Queenstown but you had to weave thru the dead wombats
More lakes mountains rivers forests and windy roads
Halfway the diamond stopped ..... Petrol !!!
Then the nut on the retard cane off which I fixed with a zip tie
Finally got to Hobart and the diamond was leaving a puddle if oil. Then the battery shat itself so I have parked her in a car park to sort out tomorrow
Staying in a posh hotel overlooking the bay
A guy helped me push the bike up to a car park and then asked me for a beer
I bought him one of course
The he asked me if I would like to drive a front end loader into an ATM and steal it!!!!!!
I left him at the bar

Pre Ride - Melbourne
Had a big night on Sunday at 2 bars being chased my melbourne cougars, We survived.
Woke up Monday and Ando took us for breaky in Port Melbourne
We picked the bikes up. Chris's bike was covered in dust and mine (Charlie) had a flat tyre.
Jimmy's bike was playing up and got worse, it finally stopped after 6 k
We parked on the side of the road and checked the points, dizzy, fuel lines, valves, stripped the carb and checked the battery etc.
Jim was having a stress, so we called the guys and sent the bike to Jim Parkers-burg
It ended up being the condenser
Chris and I visited Peter Arundel and saw his collection.
We made it to the ferry
Loading took 2 hours
The boat was knocked about crossing Bass Strait
Ready for Day 1
